Who Is Jesus to Me?
"Why is Jesus Christ so important? Why is He called Savior, and what does that mean for me?" You may have asked yourself these questions. And you may know the facts but don't see how this Truth personally affects you. Jesus Christ is the Way from darkness to light. Depending on your circumstances, it might be difficult to recognize the darkness surrounding you.
But we have all done things that we know are wrong – like lying, speaking hurtful words, and sometimes much worse. When we sin, it not only affects our relationship with other people – it also separates us from a holy God. Our world is in a mess because of sin, and God will not be close to sin or allow it into His heaven. Your Personal Rescue Story
Through Jesus Christ, God made a way for us to have peace and a loving relationship with Him. He has made a way for us to become His children and live with Him forever in heaven. No one is born a Christian. Each of us must make the personal choice to depend on Jesus Christ alone to save us from death and judgment.
You must make God’s story of rescue your own. We at Westgate Baptist Church are just ordinary folks – real people who came to see that we had broken God’s laws and there was nothing we could do to pay for our sins and earn eternal life. We needed a Savior, and we would like to share with you the story of how God changes the lives of people just like you and me. We found hope and you can too.
Knowing God Personally
Our greatest desire is to know God and make Him known. We want to know God in more than a factual or theoretical way. We want to get to know Him through a personal, living relationship.
